In the vibrant background of India's financial market, understanding the investment behaviour among salaried individuals is vital. This study delves into the realm of behavioural finance to expose comprehensions into sustainable investment practices among salaried individuals in India. Contrary to conventional knowledge, which often presumes rational decision-making, this research acknowledges the nuances of human behaviour and its impact on investment choices. This study aims to explore the behavioural finance insights into sustainable investment practices among salaried individuals in India. Making long-term profitable investments that are sustainable is something else that attracts people's interest. Nonetheless, a crucial but little-researched topic is how people's behavioral biases affect the sustainable investment decisions they make. The report highlights Indians' forward-looking approach to investing by examining their savings mind set. It attempts to shed light on the preferences and reasons guiding sustainable investment practices by analyzing the socioeconomic aspects impacting investment decisions. This study seeks to fill this gap by investigating the behavioural drivers behind salaried individuals' sustainable investment choices, with a focus on cognitive biases, risk perceptions, and social influences. By employing a mixed-methods approach combining qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys, this research will provide valuable insights into the psychological mechanisms shaping sustainable investment behaviour among salaried workers. The findings are expected to contribute to both academic literature on behavioural finance and practical efforts to promote sustainable investing in India. learn more on SSRN
